This module is designed for front loading into an existing Reactor Protection System rack assembly. The module electronics are contained in a Printed Circuit Card mounted on rails within a NIM module. The Bistable Trip Module is designed to respond to either single or multiple analog DC input signals. If multiple inputs are used, the signals are auctioneered. This signal is compared to TRIP and PRETRIP setpoint voltages. If the signal voltage rises to the PRETRIP setpoint voltage, a PRETRIP annunciator signal will be initiated to the RPS, and a white front-panel PRETRIP indicator will be latched on. If the signal voltage rises to the level of the TRIP setpoint voltage, three independent TRIP signals are initiated to the RPS logic circuitry, three red front panel trip LED indicators are energized to indicate that a TRIP signal is being initiated, and the red front panel TRIP indicator is latched on. |
