The Thermo Scientific 8120 weigh-frame (Sentron-A weigh-frame in Europe) has been designed to minimize the effects of vibration and provide the ultimate in checkweighing performance. With a simplified design, the 8120 and Sentron-A have a minimal number of moving parts. This not only helps reduce vibration, but it also means there are fewer parts to wear out, making repairs easier and shortening downtime.
The weighframe is a critical part of every checkweighing system. In fact, checkweighing accuracy is directly related to the dynamics of the weighing process. If the frame isn't stable and the loadcell free from vibration, weighing errors can result. The Thermo Scientific 8120 and Sentron-A weigh-frames have been designed to minimize the effects of vibration and provide the ultimate in checkweighing performance.
With a simplified design and use of standard industrial parts, the 8120 and Sentron-A checkweighers are designed for convenient maintenance – the simplified design makes repairs easier and shortens downtime.
The chain style conveying media is well suited to the most demanding environments running cartons, cans and jars at rates up to 500/minute (for canning applications over 300/min, consider also the (Teorema high rate can weigher).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 8120 and Sentron-A frames provide the structure to move the product over the checkweigher. The frame consists of the conveying medium (stainless steel, plastic, or micro-pitch chain), weightable with loadcell, motor and drive mechanism.
Because checkweighing is a dynamic or in-motion process, it is subject to vibrations which can interfere with the accuracy of the weighing process. These vibrations result from the motion of the drive motor and conveying media during normal operation. The 8120/Sentron-A designs, with the drive components separate from the weigh-table for a durable construction and low center of gravity, prevents resonance of the weightable structure and provides optimum weighing accuracy. The stable base and extra rigid framework assures that there will be no movement within the weigh frame structure to amplify vibration.
